About Us...
The Early Years
On June 1, 1954, Maurice and Pauline Champoux decided that they were going to pursue their dream of owning their own business. Maurice left a position at Bates Manufacturing. Together they started the business in their own home located on Pine St in Lewiston. As their business grew, their living area diminished. Room by room, the business was taking over and eventually forcing them to find new living quarters.
In 1961, Bertrand Forgues joined the agency and became a partner in 1970. In 1964, the Bouvier Agency was purchased from Del Bouvier, and the name of the agency was changed to Champoux-Bouvier Insurance Agency. Diane Champoux Iannotti worked part time for the agency during her school years, and in 1977, started to work at the agency on a full time basis. During the first 15 years of operation, Champoux Insurance Agency purchased 8 separate agencies and grew to a staff of 10 dedicated employees.

Here We Grow...
In 1980, The Rogers Insurance Agency became a part of the family. The Rogers Insurance Agency of Lisbon Falls, was also a family owned agency, and is still operated by Brenda Rogers, a Rogers family member.
In 1957, Jack Rogers left a position as district manager
for Equitable Life Insurance Company to start an agency
in his home of Auburn. Bill Rogers had just completed
a military career when he joined his brother to start
the family business. The agency grew quickly and moved
to Lisbon Falls in 1961. Bill and Jack had several family
members working along side them at the agency, not least
of which were Bill's wife Neal, who spent many years
along side of her husband, and Jack's daughter, Brenda
who joined her father in 1977. After the retirement
of Bill in 1984, Neal in 1982 and Jack in 1981, Brenda
became the manager of this friendly, family oriented
business. Brenda has worked tirelessly at the agency
and in the community.

Here We Grow Again...
Maurice Champoux had a true love for innovation
and became very involved with the new computer technology
He became the leader of technology systems for insurance
agencies and was asked by other agencies to market his
systems. He eventually sold his software products to
agencies throughout the state.
In 1999, Diane Champoux Iannotti took the helm of the business and purchased the Pinkham Insurance Agency. The Pinkham Insurance Agency was another family owned business. Setting his electrical engineering aside and exploring his entrepreneurial interest, Raymond Pinkham started the Pinkham Agency in 1963 in a spare room at the rear of his home in Thomaston. His son, Tim joined his father in the family business in 1979. In 1981, Tim moved to Lewiston to assume a small agency and in 1985, a third location in Gardiner was opened. Through the years, the agency increased it's client base in Lewiston, and in the Gardiner-Farmingdale areas. In 1993, the senior Pinkham retired and the Thomaston location was sold.

Common Philosophies
The common philosophies that Maurice Champoux,
Jack Rogers, and Raymon Pinkham pass down to their children
is the desire to help people with their personal financial
peace of mind. "Give your clients your best possible
price up front, and then give them the same level of
service that you expect, and you'll be successful".
The Champoux Insurance Agency
has now grown to over 20 employees,
3 locations, and represent
over 20 companies. This size
gives us the flexibility of
being large enough to be known
by our companies, and small
enough to know our clients.
We are still locally owned
and staffed by community involved
people still providing "in
person" service. We strive
hard to maintain the reputation
of client loyalty through
successful service related
partnerships by "Delivering
on the Promise"
